At our recent Choice Moms networking event in Minneapolis, participants brought donations for the many single moms who are served by a local homeless shelter. If you'd like to do something like this in your community of women, or with your family, here's what we collected.
A local Girl Scouts troop, led by the owner of Choice Moms-friendly Artrageous Adventures, created the baskets of items, with cards they made. Members of the First Universalist Church also contributed to the donations.
In the end, we created 20 baskets for single moms. The shelter recommended pampering items, so we included:
* bath/shower products
* hand/body lotions
* candles
* magazines/books
* perfumes
* chocolate
* tea
* slippers
We're very lucky to have the choices and resources we have. Not all single moms have those options. But all single parents deserve stress relief!
