Each week when I put my lovely post-it to-do notes on the bathroom mirror, I move into the DONE column those items that were completed. Nearly every week the post-it labeled "Accounting" never gets done. And every three months, when it's time to play catch-up -- or when I have a credit card bill that I don't like -- I wish I could get my money management skills as organized as I am getting my house and time.

I've long been looking for the right money experts to bring to the Choice Mom community. This week I found one. Or rather, she found me. The casting director for a TV show hosted by Gail Vaz-Oxlade came calling looking for Toronto-area single women who are in the WAITING stage, expecting a child (or two), and in money difficulties because of fertility treatments or other past debts. The reason I like Gail's approach (on her website, I've never seen the show) is that she's very no-nonsense and determined, like Choice Moms tend to be, and not interested in selling but in helping any of us get a handle on our budgets. Here's what she says in her bio: "I’m all about change, and I believe that we can have anything we want in life…anything. It’s all a matter of what’s important to us and how hard we’re prepared to bust our butts. I also believe that a well-balanced life is one of the keys to happiness, and so I strive to achieve a sense of balance. I’m happy with my life. I am determined to do interesting work and to be useful. I love to learn new things. And I’m practicing living in The Now. I am a work in progress."
