But as we know, it can be tough when you don't have a partner to share the time with. I'd like to hear from single adoptive moms about what you've done to get through the waiting process. Or, if you're still in it, how you're doing.

Have you joined a support group offered by your adoption agency?

Have you written practice letters to prospective birth families?

Have you contacted local networks to learn of possible adoption avenues?

Have you worked on a bedroom for the child you expect to have someday?

Have you taken parenting classes to fill time?

Have you found new ways to pamper yourself?

Have you read recommended books about open adoption?

Have you immersed yourself in information about the international culture you expect might be part of your future child's roots?
