Resources
There are 10 major markets where Choice Moms live. There are Choice Moms everywhere, of course, but I'm focusing on 10 communities where this website gets the most traffic from single women. I'm building resource guides for the cities listed below, with your help.
I'm actively recruiting your help in finding service providers in our top markets. Who do YOU use that you would recommend to other women? I'm not talking about basic family/friends you know in this field, but someone you've actually used and think does such a great job that you'd feel comfortable referring them to other women. It needs to be someone who cares enough about the Choice Mom community that they will invest $100-$500 (basic listing to advertising) in becoming a trusted resource who gets our referral business.
I've had plenty of providers who want me to advertise their services for free on this website. And I've had providers interested in advertising, but without a recommendation from the Choice Mom community in their area, I don't want to offer them as a resource. So the happy medium is that a Choice Mom-recommended service provider will be listed in our Top 10 regional guides at a nominal fee. It sets them apart from the competition for our business. We tend to be savvy consumers who don't want to waste our time or money with a provider who doesn't deliver what we need. I've had a few disappointments in providers in the past, which is why I need to stick to this model.
I'm starting to work on the referrals some of you have already sent me since I started offering these Resources. But here's the deal I offer all of you: send me a referral (with their email contact info, I won't have time to make calls to everyone), and if they decide to become invested in Choice Mom resources, you get 30% of whatever they invest. One woman made $300 simply by giving me an introduction to her doctor, who ended up becoming one of our Choice Bronze sponsors and joined our network of top fertility experts. Some quick cash for spreading the word to women in your community, through this website, of service providers who can make their lives easier.
Here are the Top 10 cities where I'm creating guides:
- New York City/Brooklyn/Westchester/Hoboken area
- San Francisco/Oakland/Berkeley
- Los Angeles area
- Toronto
- Washington D.C.
- Austin/Dallas/Houston (yes, I know Texas is huge, all these cities are in our Top 25)
- Minneapolis/St. Paul (I have a lot of this covered, but we can go deeper)
- Seattle
- Baltimore/Rosedale/Parkville/Ellicott City
- Chicago
Also on the goal list for the future:
- Charlotte/Raleigh (a little vast, but plenty of women in both areas)
- Atlanta
- Philadelphia
- Melbourne/Sydney (another long stretch, but both rank high)
- Vancouver, B.C.
- Boston
- London
- Europe in general
- Ohio
Here's the basic list of who we're looking for in each community: estate planners, financial planners, childcare agencies, doula, midwife, attorneys (known donor, third party reproduction, adoption), organizational experts, organic health specialists, holistic healers (acupuncture, yoga, etc.), delivery services (groceries, diapers), local newborn products, handymen, child photographer, breastfeeding/parenting experts, childbirth classes.
Note that any Choice Mom or non-profit will be listed for free. I will also offer complimentary listings for adoption agencies.
Note that if YOU contact the person and get their buy-in, without any contact from me needed, you keep 50% of their investment.
I must talk to all fertility specialists, sperm banks and therapists before recommending to the Choice Mom community, so those providers are not listed here.
Use the comments field below to confidentially offer your suggestions. I won't be making those public. Remember to include an email for the contact person you suggest. I'll be back in touch with you if they say yes.
I'm looking forward to preparing these handy lists for women in our top markets!

I will try to send resources over from the Houston, Texas area. I'm a ChoiceMom -to-be (expecting first child end of February 2011). Thanks for the opportunity. Laura
