We can't all be prepared. We lose our job. Emergencies tap our reserves. We find ourselves accidentally pregnant and not quite ready for the daunting responsibility we embrace. Here's one resource that is reaching out to offer help.
Single mom Lindsay Blanche created Grants for Single Mothers website to offer educational resources focused on helping single moms. Such as financial aid, scholarship resources, food and housing programs, and related information. There is information on the website about where to find:
I was excited to see an article about grants and information about single-parent adoption, but it didn't actually have any grant resources listed, only the information that single women "may be eligible for grants to help them adopt disabled children, children of a certain age, or children that are considered hard to place."
My thanks to Lindsay's outreach team for letting me become aware of this resource for members of the Choice Mom community who are finding their resources limited in this tight economy.

NOTE that we just learned of a bug involving yahoo addresses. They are apparently filtered by Google forwarding usually as spam. So if you have a yahoo email and you post a comment for approval, it might take longer for me to discover it for approval. We're working on solving this issue.
