Nick Jr. has been in touch with Choice Moms about developing a relationship with its Nick Jr. Boost online educational games for preschoolers. To start things off...

they offered my kids a trial membership in exchange for some reviews of the website, so we could decide if it was a worthwhile venture for our community.

Granted, my daughter is nearly 12, and much too old for this website. But she walked through some of it with her brother, a first grader with advanced reading and math skills. Here's their first report:

  • It's good especially for ages 3-6.
  • They have games/subjects for Spanish, Art, Science, Literacy, Math, and Computer Skills.
  • The funnest game we played was in the art section, where we had a close up of an object and "uncovered" objects where we then picked the closest match to our picture.
  • The most educational game was "Moose’s Treasure Hunt" where I learned where to put my fingers on the keyboard and type what you see on the screen (it was very hard and fast so I only recommend it to 6-7 year-olds).
  • Also, the planet game with the Backyardigans, where they asked questions like "How do you spell 'Could?'" or "What is the opposite of Under?" (Also hard, suitable for 6-7 year-olds).
  • There are a lot of other games that we haven’t tried yet but are better for little kids, like Kai-lan’s Picnic Packing, where kids sort objects and colors and count up to 5 or 10.

If you're interested in exploring it with a free 7-day trial, use this link and Choice Moms will get points for the referral.
