I've talked with a few professional single black women who have admitted feeling almost reluctant to take this step because of the long-standing stigma about single black parenting.
As this CNN article points out, however, more single black women are embracing the idea of adoption.

I'm a bit late on this but I'm a professional black woman who chose an anonymous sperm donor in order to create a family. I can certainly identify with worrying about the stigma of being a black single mother. Other black choicemoms I've spoken with had similar concerns.
